Landing at Incheon International Airport
Your first move after landing is the roaming switch on the eSIM line. Phones do not turn that switch on for you, however long you sit and wait. Next, set the same line as the one carrying mobile data for the phone. The eSIM then works on SK, the network standing behind it in South Korea. First-usage validity means the days start now, and not on the day you paid. Android needs globaldata typed into the APN field, while an iPhone requires no entry there.

You buy the roaming profile and switch it on without any local registration at all. That leaves the whole of the setup sitting on your phone and nowhere else.
A profile with no number, and the codes that need one
The Korean listing states plainly that this eSIM comes with no number. Nothing rings on it, and no text message can be sent to it. A one-time SMS code therefore lands on the SIM already in the phone. Leave that line switched on if a bank or an app verifies you by text. WhatsApp answers to the number it was registered with, whichever line is online.
