Turkey IMEI registration fee 2026 — 54,258 TL by law — and four more countries

Five countries can charge you for the handset you already own. The formulas below come from each regulator’s own document, read 10 Aug 2026 — and where a regulator publishes no rate, this calculator says so instead of inventing one. Nothing you type leaves your browser.

Where each formula comes from

Indonesia. Duty-free up to USD 500 per passenger; above it 10% duty plus 12% VAT, and the VAT base is the dutiable value plus the duty already charged — «PPN = % PPN x (nilai pabean + bea masuk)» (beacukai.go.id, 10 Aug 2026). The full breakdown.

Türkiye. A flat registration fee, and two figures circulate. Only one of them is in the law: 54 258 TL, set by Harçlar Kanunu Genel Tebliği No. 98 in the Official Gazette № 33124 of 31 December 2025. The other, 57 241 TL, comes from a travel site that ranks for this search, not from the legal text. We show both because you will meet both. Where each comes from.

Pakistan. Temporary registration is free of duty and tax for 120 days from arrival; the 60-day default needs no payment either. Beyond that, PTA points to FBR taxes without publishing a figure. The two clocks.

Nepal. The MDMS notice states no fee at all. What it does state.

Egypt. Tourists keep a 90-day exemption from the date the device was activated. NTRA does not publish a rate for what happens after — figures circulating elsewhere have no primary source, so this calculator will not compute one. The rule that changed.

An estimate from published formulas, not a customs quote. Rates and thresholds change without notice — check the regulator before you rely on a number here.
