Landing at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol
The roaming switch on the eSIM line is the step that actually matters here. Nothing connects until you set that switch yourself after the plane has landed. Do the install at home, where Wi-Fi carries the download without any data charge. At Schiphol, make the eSIM the line your phone uses for mobile data. What Dutch law says about SIMs
Dutch telecom law never writes the word SIM anywhere in its own text. Two editions of the act, published two and a half years apart, were counted. The Netherlands country page found no confirmed trap for a data-only eSIM either. The roaming profile is bought without local registration of any sort at all.
