One profile, many borders
One profile carries you across every border on the list without a second SIM in the tray. Your phone re-registers on the next network by itself, exactly as it does at home. You do not choose a country before you leave, and you do not switch profiles mid-trip. The eSIM joins whichever partner network is available in the place you have reached. Your data and your days are shared across every country on the route. Nothing in the plan resets when you cross a border into the next country. Where it works and where it stops
The covered list runs to 41 countries, and 16 European destinations sit outside it. Andorra, Armenia, Azerbaijan and the Azores are not covered by the regional profile. Nor are Belarus, the Canary Islands, the Faroe Islands, the Isle of Man and Jersey. Kosovo, Madeira, Moldova, Monaco, Northern Cyprus, Scotland and Vatican City stay off the list as well. Turkey sits on the covered side, with restrictions on use beyond 91 days under local law. Read the whole itinerary against the list before you fly, including any stopover you have forgotten.
Which plan matches your trip length
Match the plan to the number of days you will be abroad, before anything else. The catalogue sizes every plan by two numbers, an amount of data and a run of days. Those days run as calendar days from your first connection, not from the day of purchase. A fortnight abroad therefore needs a plan of 15 days or more. The 10 GB, 15-day plan was $27.99 on 5 September 2026. A month-long route steps up to a 30-day plan on the very same eSIM profile. You install nothing new when you change size, since the profile stays where it is. Border crossings do not shorten the days, so count your nights rather than your countries.
When a country plan fits better
A country plan fits better when your route never crosses a border at all. The regional profile exists to carry you between countries without a change of SIM or profile. A trip that stays inside one country never asks the profile to do that job. Two cities joined by a train or a short domestic flight still count as one country. The same reasoning applies to every destination on the missing list above. There a country plan is the only coverage on offer. Check both ends of the itinerary, since a single uncovered night still needs its own plan.
Before you fly
Two settings decide whether the plan works from the moment you land. Install the eSIM at home over Wi-Fi, because the install screen needs a working connection. Turn data roaming on for the eSIM line, since every network it joins abroad is a roaming partner. Leave your home SIM in the phone, where it goes on carrying your calls and texts. Its own data does not need to be on, because the eSIM is carrying all of it. Your own number does not move anywhere, and neither does your WhatsApp account. WhatsApp keeps running on the number registered to the physical SIM.
